This time of year, you might find yourself in the self-care section of Harry Race or White’s Pharmacy looking at the numerous products that could provide relief from your aggravating allergy symptoms. During your over-the-counter scavenger hunt, you may run across the homeopathic section. The practice of homeopathy is based on the principle that the body is capable of curing itself and two products to consider for the allergy season are Rhinallergy Kids and Sinusalia.

Rhinallergy Kids is a non-drowsy and quick-dissolving tablet. It helps to temporarily relieve one or more of the following symptoms: hay fever, allergies, itchy, watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose, scratchy throat, and nose. The active ingredients are allium cepa 5C HPUS, ambrosia artemiisiafolia 5C HPUS, Euphrasia officinalis 5C HPUS, Histaminum hydrochloricum 9C HPUS, Sabadilla 5C HPUS, and Solidago virgaurea 5C HPUS. Homeopathic Pharmacopoeia of the United States (HPUS) following the active ingredient indicates high quality, safety, manufacturing, and testing. Allium cepa 5C HPUS relieves allergic runny nose. Ambrosia artemiisiafolia 5C HPUS reduces hay fever spasmodic cough. Euphrasia officinalis 5C HPUS relieves the burning or irritated eyes. Histaminum hydrochloricum 9C HPUS relieves allergic conditions symptoms. Sabadilla 5C HPUS clears allergic sneezing and itchy throat. Solidago virgaurea 5C HPUS relieves rhinorrhea. For symptomatic relief, the tablets right when symptoms appear. For children 7 to 11 years old, dissolve two tablets sublingually every 15 minutes for the first hour, then continue with two tablets sublingually three times daily until symptoms are relieved. For children 2 to 6 years old, to aid in easier intake, dissolve two tablets in a tablespoon of water with the same frequency of children from 7 to 11 years old. Avoid this product for children under the age of 2 years old.

Sinusalia is beneficial for young children and adults and is non-drowsy and has no potential drug interactions. The product temporarily relieves common cold or allergy symptoms of nasal congestion, sinus pain, and headache. The active ingredients are Belladonna 3C, Sanguinaria canadensis 3C, Spigelia anthelmia 3C. Stuffy nose is relieved by Belladonna 3C HPUS. Sinus pain associated with a runny nose is relieved by Sanguinaria canadensis 3C HPUS. Sinus Pain with postnasal drop is relieved by Spegelia anthelmia 3C HPUS. For children over the age of 6, adults should take it right at the onset of symptoms and dissolve five tablets sublingually every 2 hours up to 6 times a day until symptoms are relieved. Avoid this product for children under the age of 6 years old.
